News - Original Arcade Frogger on PC!!!

On this Page I will show some versions of FROGGER. I guess it is impossible to list all versions, for nobody will know how many versions were produced. Some versions I know to exist are still missing (as screeshots). (I'm thinking about all those ATARI versions! BBC, TI99/4A (still got a FROGGER (BASIC)source for that one), TRS 80 ... Macinthosh and so on) There are at least two version of FROGGER for the Atari VCS 2600 (Parker and Starpath (Supercharger)), I just found one so far. Nothing seen or heard about versions for the Intellivision, no screenshots of the original Arcade...
Would you believe that even a boardgame of FROGGER was published? (It was within a series of MB-games, 3 games (as far as I know), Donkey Kong, Pacman, and FROGGER!!!)
Not to forget those (yuk!) LCD video game (Lindy).
Following are some screenshots of different FROGGER versions. Please note, that all of them can be found in the NET, if demand's up, I will provide links to the sites, so you can download them directly without having to search. (in the meanwhile you might just send an email...)

Sounds of the original Arcade machine

(I got them from Matt Cooley's Classic Video Games )

I also got a SID-rip from a C64 FROGGER (that means, it's a sound file). If you want it, -get it here, it's called frogger.zip. It's small (compared to music files nowadays) just about 2Kb. You need a SID-player to "use" it...
I got it at: Dave's Commodore 64 Page.

There is an ONLINE Java-skript Frogger available, just go to:

Frogger manuals

A very good page, if you are looking for classic game stuff (or FROGGER in special) is http://videogames.org/. I found same manuals there for various FROGGER versions, you may look at them there or via links:

        Atari 2600 VCS Frogger manual
Atari 2600 VCS Frogger (V2) manual
Atari 2600 VCS Frogger 2 manual page

        Intellivision Frogger manual

Frogger other stuff

Someone (Jan) told me that there is a 'Frogger Mini-arcade' (by coleco), pitty I never seen one, does anyone have some more info?
I got an image of one FROGGER Mini-arcade (?) game, it's not like one can see very much, but well, one can still make the FROGGER label out... It is a rip of a picture found at http://www.owlnet.rice.edu/~dgb/museum (which is a magnificent page) (the original picture: handheld.jpg)

There are actually some FROG loving people out there, not really related to FROGGER, but perhaps you are interested, try have a look for example at: There are some other FROGGER related pictures at Matt Cooley's Classic Video Games, they are scanned of some sort of 'collector cards':

I finaly managed to get some pix scanned which have been lying around for quite some time now:
I picture of a MB Frogger board game:
(~80KB)
A box of a Frogger game:
(~30KB)
Two other pix of some adds:
(~20KB)
(~70KB)

What other computer versions are there?

        An newsgroug-message:

I've got an Odyssey^2 "Frogger" available! It comes with the original box and Parker Brothers Philips game catalog. (No instructions - it was not sold with any.) The opening screen graphics are beautiful, so are the closing screen graphics. The experience of me and a few other gamers is that it does not function properly on American Odyssey^2 units; They do work perfectly on the European units (known as the Philips G7000).

News - Original Arcade Frogger on PC!!!

I just found an emulator for the original arcade game, using the original ROMs!!! I admitt the emulator is in an early stage and some minor features are not 100% implemented yet but this one is certainly to be recomended.
David removed his emulator from the public domain, wait for his announcements how to obtain it now...

    Wonn'a go back?
